SUMMARY:

This article basically talks about what taking an online course is. It tells you how most of the instructors set up the class. The article explains that lectures and notes from the instructor are posted almost daily along with discussions and questions from other students taking the course. Most online courses give you a mailbox just like email and questions you have for your teacher and for anyone else can be sent through here, also sometimes you may also be able to chat with your fellow classmates if they are online at the same time as you. You could talk about the lecture or any upcoming assignments you may have.

IMPORTANCE:

This article is extremely important since our papers are to evaluate online learning. This gives you a basic description of how an online class is setup. You can also learn further information on the Onlinelearning.net website.

CONNECTIONS:

As a student I have taken an online course for Social and Professional Development at USM, for me it was kind of rough at first because I was a freshman and I was not use to how and online class worked. After I got the hang of it, it worked exactly how this article explains.

SUPPORTING SOURCE:

I am most likely going to do my paper on Speech classes online. With this article I can compare how some schools set up their online speech classes and see how much each of them differ from how this particular site explains.

Summary:

Consumers have been illegally downloading music for years but in 1999 a campaign developed against these actions. Numerous amounts of people have been sued for downloading music without paying for it. Though musicians would rather people buy there CDs so they can make profit from them they do not want their fans to think they are being unfriendly.

Importance:

This article gives some input from musicians and how they feel about illegal file sharing. My paper is to try and find a reasonable way for consumers to download music legally and somehow give money back to artists so they won’t have people stealing from them.

Finishing Paper 2

I sure hope I'm not the only one that struggled with finishing on my paper. I struggled to find supporting sources and to make my paper long enough. I took the option for the late paper, yet I still did not have a complete six pages. I don't think writing papers will ever get any easier for me. From paper number one three years ago when I first started college writing papers is still equally hard. I am just glad that I only have one more English to take, because writing papers is not my expertise.

Spring Semester 2007

So far this semester has been extremely rough. School is more stressful than ever and the Spring semester always seems so much longer. Classes get harder and harder the older you get and sometimes makes you wonder what you are really doing here. I am majoring in Accounting to be a CPA and I get questioned all the time about what possessed me to choose to do such a thing. And to be honest I could not really tell you why I chose to do this. I think that the biggest reason I chose to be in accounting is because everything else is just not so appealing to me. I really am not good at public speaking and writing so the opposite of that would be working with numbers. I can't wait for it all to be over, only four more semesters!!!

Progress on Paper 2

As of now I have almost three pages done, I believe it needs a lot of work but I will work on making it better when I'm done. I am having a lot of problems finding credible sources that talk about what I need to use in my paper. I don't exactly know where to look to find this stuff. I can't interview people because the people that my paper deals with are famous so they would never respond to me. I think the library will help out a lot.

Summary:

This article mainly says that illegal file-sharing is here to stay. Statistics say that downloading music illegally is more appealing to youngsters no matter what form it may be in.

Importance:

This article is short but it gives me a few good facts and statistics to add to my paper. It gave me some other ideas as to which I could also look up to help argue my point in my paper.

Connections:

The only connection I can come up with is when the D.A.R.E. teacher told us that stealing would get us some time behind bars!!!

Supporting Source:

As stated in this article, “consumers are three times more likely to download music from illegal file-sharing websites that they are to pay for them from online song shops such as Napster and itunes”. My main argument in this paper is going to be trying to come up with a way for illegal file-sharing to be eliminated completely. Most people who but ipods do not pay for itunes to download songs, they just transfer them from a illegal file-sharing site. I am going to think of a way for Apple and itunes to get together to make a itunes the only way to download music to most ipods.

Baseball season....YAY!!!

So baseball season started not to long ago and I'm pretty pumped. Baseball is my favorite college sport to watch and being a Diamond Darling makes it that much more fun. So far this season the Southern Miss team is 13-2 i think. The team has been competing very well and they have some very talented guys. I am also really good friends with most of the guys and watching them succeed after all the hard work I know they put in is great! They deserve a winning season. The team will travel to my hometown this weekend to take on the LSU tigers, and I'm so excited. Hopefully we will add 3 more wins to our record!!
